چکیده
Orbital pipe welding was often used to manufacture piping systems. In orbital welding, a major challenge is the torch’s position during process, so that additional methods are needed overcome these challenges. This paper discusses influence of sequence and current on distortion, mechanical properties metallurgical observations in with SS 316L square butt joints. The variation parameters sequence. 100 A, 110 120 while one sequence, two sequences, three four sequences. results will be analyzed from distortion measurement, test observations. Distortion measurements made before after welding. Testing includes tensile tests microhardness tests, include macrostructure microstructural show maximum axial transverse ovality, taper occurred at A sequences 445 µm, 300 195 275 respectively. decrease ultimate strength 51 % compared base metal’s strength. Horizontal vertical produces greatest value, but there value using different depths penetration each position. largest smallest depth 4.11 mm 1.60 mm, respectively

Investigating the Effect of Optimum Welding Parameters on the Microstructural and Mechanical Properties of St37 Steel and 316L Stainless Steel Welded by the Friction Stir Welding Process
In this research, St37 and 316L steel sheets were welded using friction stir welding (FSW) process and effective parameters such as the rotational speed, linear speed of the tool, pin diameter, and their appropriate values were studied. The microstructure, hardness, and strength of the different welding regions were investigated. It was observed that in the stir zone (SZ), a mechanical operatio...
متن کاملEffect of Heat Input on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties in Friction Stir Welding of HSLA-60
High-strength low alloy steels are a class of steels used in applications that require high strength and good weldability, including ship hulls, gas pipelines and oil industry. One way to build parts is fusion welding that create areas with a large grain size in the heat-affected zone and increased susceptibility to hydrogen cracking. One way to solve this problem is to use solid state friction...

In this paper, resistance spot welding process of AISI 201 stainless steel is studied experimentally. For this purpose, effect of welding current on quality of weld is investigated and relationships between welding current and fusion zone characteristics are examined. For determining mechanical properties such as maximum load and fracture mode, tensile - shear test of spot welds is performed. ...
